The scientific program will be organized in different sessions with a guiding thread: we will chronologically go through the different waves of evolving issues that the adult cardiologists have needed to face since babies born with congenital heart disease survive to adulthood. Initially, the challenges of organization of healthcare and diagnostic approach, that currently has evolved to incorporate the most modern non-invasive diagnostic tools. Later, our adolescents and young adults, and with them, the physicians who take care of them, faced the risk of arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, and thereupon re-interventions and its indications. And finally, as the ACHD population ages, the management of co-morbidities and heart failure or advance care planning has to be an integral part of the comprehensive care for adults with congenital heart disease. Rapid-fire sessions, case-based symposiums, and debates provide a unique opportunity for intense interaction between the audience and experts in various fields of congenital cardiology and will allow in-depth discussion of ongoing questions.
