Image-Guided Calcium Modification: IVL
Recently, we have evolved to rely heavily on an intravascular imaging-based approach to deal with calcified lesions; our center images over 85% of all percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) cases. We typically apply an image-based strategy to determine the optimal stenting plan and routinely employ an algorithm called MLD MAX, (Morphology, Length, Diameter, Medial dissection, Apposition, eXpansion) which is a prescriptive way to use optical coherence tomography (OCT) or intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) to guide PCI.
