Job Description:
The Special Procedures Radiology Technologist demonstrates training and proficiency in assisting the Physician to perform a variety of specialized procedures in the role(s) of radiology technologist, scrub, and hemodynamic monitoring. The Special Procedures Radiology Technologist assumes responsibility for the use of a variety of minor and computer related equipment. Additional expectations include, but are not limited to, room setup, patient positioning, and patient screening.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate of radiography, cardiovascular technology, respiratory therapy program, and/or, high School diploma with extensive relative work experience.
Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Experience in a Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, or Interventional Radiology setting.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Licensed as a Radiology Technologist by the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
