Radiologic Technologist 2 Jackson South Medical Center Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab Status: Full Time Shift: Days

Radiologic Technologist 2 are responsible for use of complex radiographic equipment in completing specialized diagnostic studies within the main hospital or other specialty areas of a large and diversified department of radiology. Employees in this classification operate highly specialized equipment to produce studies such as aortograms, angiocardiograms or other special procedures which combine bi-plane seriography and cineradiography. Qualifications Experience: Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience. Unit Specific: Rad Tech specialized for screening and diagnostic mammograms only. Needle localization and stereotactic biopsy experience is a plus.
Education: Associate’s degree in Radiology Technology is required. Any Employee who will be performing Point of Care and testing in the Operating Room, Neuro ICU, NICU, PICU, Pedi-ER, Cath Lab and/or Interventional Radiology areas, the educational degree must be verified at the time of hire. Minimum education level required to be verified is Associate Degree.
Licensure Certification: Valid Florida state license as a Radiology Technologist required. Employees hired BEFORE 2/1/2017 MUST obtain the required ARRT Certification by 12/31/2019. Employees who have completed training at JHS may be granted a grace period of 6 months upon hire to obtain the required certification. Any new hires with external training must have the required certification at the time of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
Knowledge Skill Abilities: Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Must meet and maintain current all unit specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures, as required by the nursing area.
