Technologist:

Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, Days
Must be able to respond and be on-site within 30 minutes when on-call.

Job Objectives: Perform diagnostic imaging of patients.

Education/Knowledge/Skills: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.  Must have working knowledge of: cardiac cath diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; cine film development; pressure injector; guidewires; catheters; sterile procedure techniques; physiological data computer; and other equipment unique to the cardiac cath lab environment. Must have knowledge of cardiac life support and respond to emergency situations within the interventional areas.  For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential.  Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.

Experience: Experience and use of diagnostic and interventional cardiac/vascular imaging are preferred.  Orientation is given to all newly employed personnel, as well as educational preparation for specialty areas.Prefer Prior Cath Lab experience.

Licensure/Certifications:

  1. For the Interventional Radiology department: Must hold current registration as a diagnostic technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists “R.T. (R)” with current registry in Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist (CV) or Vascular Interventional (VI). If not currently registered in CV or VI, must obtain this registry within 16 months of start date in the Interventional Radiology department.
  2.  For the Heart Cath Lab: Must hold current registration 1) as a diagnostic technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists “R.T. (R)”, or 2) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or 3) Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), as of the start date in the Heart Cath Lab.

Must be currently certified in basic cardiac life support (BCLS) or be recertified during orientation period.  Must be currently certified (or scheduled for certification or recertification training) in ACLS if employed in the Heart Catheterization Lab.
Must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist with the ARRT and hold a current BLS certificate, ACLS preferred.

Coordinator:

Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, Days
30 minute response time required when on-call

Position Summary: Under direction of the department manager, is responsible for daily clinical operations of cath lab. This incumbent is expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing the duties below.

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of cath lab or special labs experience required. Cath Lab experience required and prior leadership experience preferred.

Licensure Requirement: Must be a registered cardiovascular technologist (RCIS), RN or registered radiology technologist (ARRT). BLS, ACLS
