Job Description Summary:
The Cath/IR Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist and Interventional Radiologist for both coronary and interventional radiology procedures. The technologist must have knowledge of the Philips X-ray equipment in use, XPER hemodynamic monitoring, EPIC/XPER charting, and coronary and peripheral anatomy. The technologist assists with the following coronary procedures: Left and right heart catherization’s, PTCA with possible stent, IABP, Impella, IVUS, FFR/IFR, thrombectomy, and pericardiocentesis. The technologist also assists with the following Interventional Radiology procedures: Pain procedures, Kyphoplasty/Vertebroplasty, biopsies, drains, aspirations, urologic & biliary interventions, peripheral angiography, IVC filter placement/removal, tunneled/non-tunneled line procedures, thoracentesis and paracentesis.
High School or GED (Required)ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support – American Heart Association, BLS – Basic Life Support – American Heart AssociationState of Ohio Radiologic License. ARRT Registry. BLS/ACLS certified; basic arrhythmias. Computer data entry Experience . Knowledge of sterile technique. 1 yr in a hospital Interventional Radiology and/or Cardiac Cath Lab department.
