Summary

Cath Lab Technicians assist the cardiology team with various cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. By monitoring passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field Cath Lab Techs maintain HSHS’s high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Education

Enrolled in the last semester of an accredited Radiology Technology, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Respiratory Therapy, EMT Level P or CV Tech program.

High school diploma or GED – required

 

Experience

Clinical-Preferred

Must be able to function under stress be knowledgeable of sterile techniques and have the ability to learn the mathematical calculations relative to the catheterization procedure; Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of anatomy and physiology and cardiovascular concepts.

 

Certifications Licenses and Registrations

Licensed in the state of practice if applicable-Required

Basic Life Support (BLS)-Required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Must obtain within 6 months of hire
