Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:

The incumbent is a member of the health care team who is accountable for providing technical, and/or supportive services during diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures under the direct supervision of the Cath Lab Clinical Coordinator. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory with demonstrated knoweldge of cardiac rhythms, basic 12 lead ECG interpretation and cardiac hemodynamics
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience as a Radiology Technician with current x-ray and fluoroscopy licenses
  • Registry-eligible as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • Knowledge of basic cardiac rhythms and cardiac hemodynamics
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
