The Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology RN position at Highlands Ranch Hospital will provide a unique opportunity for the RN looking to diversify their role and skillset.  This RN will assist in providing nursing care and sedation for all after-hours Interventional Radiology procedures including vascular and stroke, Interventional Cardiology procedures such as coronary angiography, stent placement, peripheral interventions and cardiac device implantation.  This position will take overnight and weekend call only as part of an on-call RN team.  It is a salaried position so hours are guaranteed.

We are looking for a highly motivated and engaged individual that is willing to think outside the box and be autonomous in their practice.  Willingness to work as a team is the number one priority in providing an excellent patient experience at Highlands Ranch Hospital.  Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization

Provides on-call nursing support for critical procedural areas. Carries out patient care assignments, performing established nursing procedures.

Job Duties

Provides on-call nursing support for critical procedural service areas.  Adheres to patient safety goals, fall and skin precautions, restraint use, and medication administration policies. Educates patient and family.  Completes patient assessment based on diagnosis and scheduled procedure; identifies discrepancies or conditions that would impact planned care. Documents care provided.  Handles assignment changes. Identifies opportunities for practice improvements. Identifies additional supplies and equipment needed.


Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years’ experience. A BSN is required for new hires or must be obtained within three years of acceptance of the position.

1 year of acute care nursing experience.

State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
