Job Description
The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist provides fundamental technical support by assisting the physician with patient preparation, intra and post-interventional/surgical procedures, management of supplies and devices, cardiac and physiologic patient monitoring and assisting with direct patient care. Responsible for assisting the physician with safe and effective operation of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment as well as specialized imaging and technical equipment used for procedures. Is a patient/family educator, advocate and liaison.
Qualifications
No experience required. High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, GED, or equivalent training or experience. Life Support Certificate, as per department standard. BLS & ACLS required. Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES CCI) required, and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS CCI) required. Cardiovascular or Cardiopulmonary Technologist (CVT) from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology. ACLS within 6 months of hire date. Proof of RCIS or RCES exam eligibility required. Must attain RCIS or RCES within 2 years of hire date. Associate or Bachelor of Science or health care related field degree preferred. Licensed Radiology Technologists with experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or certified through CCI as a CCT are also eligible to apply. Completes a minimum of 12 CEUs annually (10 CEUs must be CV related).
